Week Three — Movement Challenge results
Submitted by Human Capital Services - Benefits
This week 441 K-Staters participated in the #PurpleIsProgress Movement Challenge. Only a few more days are left to participate. The K-State community has now traveled approximately 57,311 miles and the average steps per person also has consistently stayed above an average of 10,000 steps per day. The goal of taking 10,000 steps in a day is a rough equivalent to the surgeon general's recommendation to accumulate 30 minutes of activity most days of the week. It should be enough to reduce your risk for disease and help you lead a longer, healthier life.
As the end of the movement challenge draws near, we want you to know this doesn't mark the end of your wellness journey. Continue to join your colleagues at lunch for a quick walk, find ways to engage in activity with your families and enjoy the benefits of leading a more active and healthier lifestyle.
And now, for the much awaited Week Three results…
The Division of Facilities-Car Pool has flown into first place with 17,708 average steps per day. The competition is fierce! Who will come out on top and become the overall champion that takes home the AWESOME trophy?
