K-State physics department invites community to join in celebrating the International Year of Light
The United Nations General Assembly 68th Session proclaimed 2015 as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies. The International Year of Light is a global initiative, which will highlight the importance of light and optical technologies in citizens' lives, for their futures and for the development of society.
The physics department at K-State would like to inspire, educate and connect with Manhattan and other nearby communities as part of this celebration. The department invites you to join them at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in the foyer of Cardwell Hall as the K-State Physics Club members provide hands-on light and optics activities.
Beginning at noon there will be an exciting demonstration show featuring Chris Sorensen, university distinguished professor and teaching scholar, in 101 Cardwell Hall.
All activities are free and open to the public.
