Recent bicycle thefts a reminder to purchase quality locks
The Kansas State University Police Department is investigating several bicycle thefts in the past week. The bicycles were reported stolen from resident hall bicycle racks and the Jardine housing area. Most of the stolen bicycles were secured with a cable-type lock and appeared to be easily cut.
The K-State Police Department recommends a U-type lock to help reduce the chances of bicycle thefts. Bicycle owners also can register their bicycle for free with Parking Services, which may help in the recovery of lost or stolen bicycles.
Those who may have information about these thefts are encouraged to contact the K-State Police Department at 785-532-6412 or send tips through the LiveSafe smartphone app. Confidential tips can be sent through the Silent Witness website.
