Workshop on pronouncing Chinese names
With some 800 Chinese students at K-State, chances are you have met some of them or have them in your class. Have you ever wanted to say their names but were afraid of butchering them? Well, fear no more. The K-State Confucius Institute invites you to attend a free workshop on pronouncing Chinese names. The workshop will cover the basics of Chinese naming convention and offer easy-to-follow, practical tips on Chinese name pronunciation.
For your convenience, the workshop is scheduled for four different times: noon to 1 p.m., and 3:30-4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 26, in Room 209 at the K-State Student Union. You may attend any one of these sessions.
Rong Shao, Chinese language instructor at the Confucius Institute, will be the presenter. Coffee and cookies are provided. For more information, please contact Max Lu at maxlu@k-state.edu or 785-532-3413.
