Sexual assault and Title IX violations: What every K-Stater needs to know.
New Federal Guidelines have been implemented at K-State for responding to reports of rape and all sexual assaults. These new guidelines are the result of changes in Title IX, the federal law prohibiting sex discrimination in educational institutions.
Rape and all sexual violence are now included as severe forms of sexual harassment under Title IX regulations. This means that sexual assaults that occur on campus must be investigated by the university to a degree that protects other students from individuals who may pose a threat. Sexual violence that occurs off campus may also be investigated, if the event impacts a student's right to a safe and equitable campus learning atmosphere.
SafeZone, K-State women's center and the office of affirmative action brings this training for all faculty-staff, informing about the recent Title IX regulations implemented at K-State.
Training will occur from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Union 212. Register at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHBadWxncTJIeGtaU0kySkhDOElPOUE6MQ#gid=0
