Ascendo3

Internationally acclaimed trio Ascendo3 will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Hale Library's Hemisphere Room as part of the Hale Library Concert Series. Ascendo3 is comprised of Joseph Wytko, saxophone; Anna Marie Wytko, associate professor of saxophone at K-State, saxophone; and Cameron Hofmann, piano.

Ascendo3 performs invigorating international collaborations with contemporary composers, masterful programming of new acoustic and electroacoustic works; fresh, bold presentations of works by J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Piazzolla, Bernstein, Lennon-McCartney and others. The group offers flexible, intriguing interactions with audiences, and an authentic dedication to recording.

Two of the new works featured on the program include Paris composer Philippe Gantchoula's "Krypton" for soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone and piano, as well as K-State Associate Professor of Composition Craig Weston's "Paradox Found" for the same combination. Both works are featured on Wytko's new saxophone CD.
