Court grants Kansas State University's request to dismiss retaliation claim
Submitted by Office of General Counsel
On June 28, the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas granted Kansas State University's motion to dismiss discrimination and retaliation claims by Pourya Shahmaleki, a former graduate student who was expelled by the university in May 2013.
The court dismissed the claims because the complaint did not plausibly allege discrimination or retaliation. The court had previously dismissed Shahmaleki's claims that the university violated his due process rights.
