Mediasite on-campus server migration is complete

Submitted by Information Technology Services

Mediasite

During the month of June, Mediasite services and content were migrated from the cloud-hosted provider to on-campus servers as part of the Converged Infrastructure initiative. Faculty and staff who use Mediasite need to perform the post-migration steps to ensure their content and tools are working properly.

The MyMediasite tool has been updated in K-State Online Canvas, so instructors can continue to add video to their courses as usual. However, if you have previously downloaded and installed the Mediasite Desktop Recorder, you will need to update the program's settings to direct the tool to the new on-campus servers.

Webmasters and others responsible for their website's content should update their Mediasite links and embedded videos as soon as possible. Simply change "kansasstate.mediasite.com" to "mediasite.k-state.edu" in your link or embed code. Links to the old Mediasite system will continue to function for a limited time.

Mediasite by Sonic Foundry is Kansas State University's choice solution for capturing, managing and delivering instructional, rich media content across the web and in K-State Online Canvas. With more than 770,000 content views, Mediasite empowers the university to incorporate video, slides and audio into the learning environment. To learn more, visit K-State's Mediasite website.
