Interim assistant vice president for human capital services search
K-State announces an expedited internal search for an interim assistant vice president for human capital services, or AVPHCS, to serve for the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters during an ongoing national search for the permanent vice president for human capital services to be chaired by Dr. Sue Peterson.
The interim AVPHCS will serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and will partner with the vice president of communications and marketing Jeff Morris, to oversee the effective delivery of human capital services to the university community.
The successful candidate will provide transitional leadership to the Division of Human Capital Services, will provide vision and leadership, and will continue to explore, enhance and provide superlative services to K-State employees, working closely with university leadership and university partners. The AVPHCS will have administrative responsibility over the Division of Human Capital Services including: Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Employee Relations and Engagement, Institutional Equity, Compensation and Organizational Effectiveness, Labor Relations and Special Projects, Benefits, and Resource Center and Operations as they continue to explore, enhance and provide superlative services to K-State employees.
The interim AVPHCS search committee invites applications — letter of interest, resume, contact information for at least three references — to be submitted as soon as possible. Applicants must be prepared to make a 10-minute presentation highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, what it is they currently do, and how they plan to expand and lead their fellow teammates in a temporary supervisory role.
This position is open to current Kansas State University, Human Capital Services directors. The application deadline is noon Monday, Sept. 19, with interviews quickly following Sept. 21-23. It is expected that the successful candidate will begin the position on Sept. 26.
