Students invited to learn about application writing at Branding U workshop
Spruce up your application writing skills at Branding U, a free workshop presented by the K-State Alumni Association's Student Alumni Board. Whether you're writing an application for a campus organization, scholarship or internship, you'll learn from the campus experts about how to put your best foot forward.
The workshop will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the K-State Alumni Center Banquet Room.
Speakers include Amy Button Renz '76, '86, president and CEO of the K-State Alumni Association; Taylor Fry, Student Alumni Board president; Jim Hohenbary '95, director of the K-State Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships; and representatives from the K-State Writing Center.
"The intention isn't just the typical grammar and logistical things for writing, but is rather learning how to put your unique experiences on paper and connect with the reader who is looking at your application," Fry said.
Light refreshments will be served. Event partners include the K-State English department Writing Center, Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships and the K-State Alumni Association.
