Teaching and Learning Center is looking for first-generation graduate student volunteers

Submitted by Jana Fallin

The Teaching and Learning Center seeks K-State graduate students who are first-generation students. Our goal is to have these students as consultants and participants in a program designed to get more information on the challenges in higher education for first-generation graduate students.

First-generation students could include someone who is first in his or her family to attend college, someone whose parents attended, but did not graduate; or the first in one's family to earn a four-year degree, or to attempt a four-year degree.

If you are interested in self-identifying as a first-generation student, or if you know of a graduate student who is a first-generation student, please email the Teaching and Learning Center at teachingandlearning@k-state.edu

This project focusing on graduate students will be similar to the Teaching and Learning Center's recent project with K-State faculty

Thank you for your help.
