Lindsay Kubina joins Student Access Center
Submitted by Jason Maseberg-Tomlinson
This fall, K-State alumna Lindsay Kubina joined the Student Access Center as an access advisor.
Kubina will work primarily with undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. She also will coordinate outreach events for the office to improve awareness of the center.
Kubina has two associate degrees from Hutchison Community College and received her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in psychology from K-State. For the past two years, Kubina was a student services representative and disabilities coordinator for Highland Community College. During graduate school, she was a graduate assistant in the Student Access Center.
Kubina has experience working with students with disabilities, determining accommodations, and working with policy and protocol to improve service to students. She has a great skill set for working with students, both traditional and nontraditional. Kubina understands the needs of students and the importance of working with a network of resources so that students are supported on our campus. With her background in psychology, Kubina has an exceptional understanding of psychological diagnosis and how students are affected by various disabilities in the classroom.
As outreach coordinator, Kubina is available to meet with classes, during department meetings or other events to talk about accessibility and the Student Access Center's services on campus for students.
Contact the Student Access Center at accesscenter@k-state.edu to schedule a meeting with Kubina.
