Adknowledge to present how-to and recruitment talk today
Adknowledge, the fourth largest advertiser marketplace, will give a how-to and recruitment talk today in 126 Nichols Hall.
The how-to talk will run from 4-5 p.m. Free pizza and soda will be available at 5 p.m. The recruitment talk will run from 5:15-6 p.m.
The how-to talk is titled "Behavioral Targeting with Large Datasets." Behavioral targeting is a technique for selecting advertisements and products that leverages a user's previous history in order to select the most relevant products to display to the user. One of the most cited examples of behavioral targeting is Amazon's "Frequently Bought Together" links underneath the item that one is interested in.
In this talk, Adknowledge representatives will discuss how the data analytics team within the company is able to apply machine learning, distributed computing and statistical analysis to terabytes of data in order to improve behavioral targeting and increase profits at Adknowledge.
