Join the HealthQuest Walk of Knowledge challenge
Submitted by Human Capital Services - Benefits
Each fall, K-State Human Capital Services sponsors a universitywide movement challenge encouraging employees to move an equivalent of 10,000 steps per day. Departments compete in the challenge to see which has the highest average daily steps and the highest participation. Common feedback from the movement challenge is that participants would love to be able to create teams instead of being assigned to a department team. Great news: The Kansas HealthQuest program is offering several ways for employees to be active by joining in challenges and choosing their own team.
Sign up now to participate in the Walk of Knowledge. This challenge will last six weeks, Feb. 13-March 27, and will walk to a different university in Kansas. Not only will you be challenged to focus on your activity level, you'll also have the opportunity to increase your knowledge of the different Kansas Board of Regents universities.
It's easy to sign up! Log into your HealthQuest account, locate the "Challenges" area and select "Sign Up." You may then pick a team that has already been set up or set up a new team for your colleagues to choose. Have fun being active with your peers and finding out more about wellness and the Kansas universities, including K-State.
Don't think this challenge is for you? No worries. Kansas HealthQuest will off other challenges over the course of 2017. Upcoming challenges include Cardio Challenge, Hydration Challenge, Fruit and Veggie Challenge, and Walking Tour of Kansas.
We love to hear about your wellness journey! Use the hashtag, #purpleisprogress, to connect with your K-State colleagues and see what they are doing to support their personal wellness.
