New website for Urban Water Institute now accessible
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
Kansas State University's Urban Water Institute's new website is now live.
The institute brings together industry, researchers, policy makers, advocates and educators to identify and develop solutions for complex cross-disciplinary and cross-boundary concerns related to urban water sustainability. The institute facilitates industry- and agency-identified research, development and implementation of water-related projects by engaging teams of practitioners, researchers, educators and students across Kansas and the four-state region.
At a recent K-12 outreach event hosted by the institute, several Water Investigation Lab Day: Citizen Awareness Teams, or WILD-CATs, consisting of fourth- through sixth graders from the Shawnee Mission School District, investigated water quality in the K-State Olathe campus pond. Several high school students and adult volunteers including K-State alums served as mentors to the student teams. The event was co-sponsored by One Health Kansas.
