Philosophy professor to present in New Orleans
James R. Hamilton, professor of philosophy, will present "Narrative, non-narrative, and quasi-narrative performances," at the annual meeting of the American Society for Aesthetics Nov. 17 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Hamilton first offers clear examples of the distinctions. He then provides some work in cognitive science and computational narrative comprehension to suggest an explanatory account of how spectators reason to what they produce, which is the evidence we have of their comprehension.
