Konza United Way: Did you know?
Submitted by K-State United Way Campaign Committee
Did you know that Konza United Way:
• Helped 66 victims of child sexual abuse and their 49 non-offending caregivers from Riley, Clay and Pottawatomie counties receive advocacy services last year through Stepping Stones Child Advocacy Center, a United Way agency that helps families at a time of crisis?
• Enabled Shepherd's Crossing to assist more than 1,400 households that housed more than 700 children in Riley County and St. George with their rent and utility expenses?
• Helped the Flint Hills ATA buses provide 73,376 rides on its citywide fixed route and to provide 300,160 rides in all services — with most using the service to get to and from work? Every $1 invested in public transportation, including your Konza United Way contribution, generates $4 in economic returns. Konza United Way dollars invested in public transportation in our region help leverage federal and state dollars that are put back into the local economy.
