Search committee announces chief diversity and inclusion officer candidates
The search committee announces the following three candidates who will interview for the chief diversity and inclusion officer position.
Maurice Gipson, assistant vice chancellor and chief diversity officer at Arkansas State University, will interview Tuesday, Dec. 5. The open forum will be 10:45-11:45 a.m. in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union.
Gabrielle Malfatti, director of global engagement at the University of Missouri College of Education, will interview Wednesday, Dec. 6. The open forum will be 9:45-10:45 a.m. in Town Hall at the Leadership Studies Building.
Bryan Samuel, director of the Office of Equity and Diversity at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, will interview Thursday, Dec. 7. The open forum will be 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union.
Application materials and a complete itinerary for each candidate may be found on the president's office website.
K-Staters are encouraged to attend each candidate's open forum presentation, which is based on the following question:
"On Nov. 14, K-State canceled two classes in the middle of the day to hold a Unity Walk and KSUnite event. This time was set aside to reaffirm who we are, what we value and what we stand for as the K-State family as it relates to diversity, inclusion and equity. How would you, as our chief diversity and inclusion officer, 'continue the walk,' leading us as the K-State family on this journey?"
For those unable to attend in person, the open forums will be streamed live and archived on the president's office website.
Feedback is encouraged. A link to a feedback survey will be made available on the president's office website for each candidate.
