LIFE program, K-State CrossFit are here to help you reach your fitness goals
Are you looking for a convenient exercise program to help supplement your weight management goals? Exercise is a vital component of energy balance — i.e., energy expenditure — and important for maintaining and improving body composition and health.
The kinesiology department offers programs that are open to students, staff, faculty and community members. No need to "get in shape" before you join either program, the department has opportunities and scaled workouts for every fitness and ability level; program members span ages 10 to 85!
The LIFE program and K-State CrossFit are conveniently located in the Natatorium/Ahearn Field House with shower facilities and lockers available.
Do your own thing using LIFE facilities including basketball courts, indoor and outdoor track, and weight rooms with free weights, machines, bicycles and rowers; open 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. during the work week.
If you're looking to try something new, join a coach-led structured, constantly varying exercise class with K-State CrossFit at 5:45 a.m., noon, or 5:30 p.m. during the work week; at 9 a.m. or a free introductory class at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. High-intensity CrossFit exercise training can be very effective for post-exercise energy consumption — i.e., burning fat — and K-State research studies have shown both significant improvements in body composition and weight maintenance.
