Spring Teaching Workshop Jan. 26
The Teaching and Learning Center is celebrating 20 years of faculty development with the Faculty Exchange for Teaching Excellence Spring Teaching Workshop.
Register and join us at the College of Business Building and Justin Hall for the Spring Teaching Workshop from 1-5 p.m. Jan. 26, 2018. The workshop will be a little different this year. The event is free, and K-State faculty will share ideas about teaching and learning. You pick and choose which sessions you will attend. Workshop attendees will walk across the street between the College of Business Building and Justin Hall.
Topics include: best practices for engagement in large classes; using Socratic questions to prepare GTAs to teach college classes; Canvas best practices in course design and Canvas moving beyond basics; the power of stories, social media in the classroom; Just-in-Time teaching; overcoming student fear of failure; debunking the myths of online coursework; serving our military-connected students; and using backward design for course development.
Visit the Teaching and Learning Center website to register.
The annual Spring Teaching Workshop is sponsored by the Faculty Exchange for Teaching Excellence and the Teaching and Learning Center at K-State. Hope to see you there!
