Hanson named Research Dietetic Practice Group Member of the Year

Jennifer Hanson, assistant professor in the food, nutrition, dietetics and health department, was named the 2017-2018 member of the year of the Research Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Each year, the Research Dietetic Practice Group honors one of its members who has provided significant and sustained work to advance its mission and goals with the Member of the Year Award. According to Lauri Byerley, past chair of the Research Dietetic Practice Group, Hanson was instrumental in overhauling and improving the group's awards application, submission and review process. In addition to her work as awards chair, Hanson has served as a nominating committee member and as the nominating committee chair.
The Research Dietetic Practice Group is comprised of dietetic professionals interested in many aspects of research. Its members are valued sources for conducting, disseminating, interpreting and applying food, nutrition and dietetic research. Hanson's current research focus is on child nutrition and behavioral health.
