K-State Music Camp, Manhattan Municipal Band concerts
The Manhattan Municipal Band will present a concert with the participants of the K-State Music Camp at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, in City Park.
The band has been serving the K-State and Manhattan Community for 92 years, presenting concerts during the summer at City Park's Larry Norvell Band Shell. The band plays a mix of patriotic music, classic marches, broadway hits and jazz standards, and features soloists.
The K-State Music Camp is now in its 19th year and provides Kansas middle school and high school band students an opportunity to live and play at K-State, learning from some outstanding music educators and staff. Along with playing with the Municipal Band on Tuesday evening, the campers will present their own concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at K-State's All Faiths Chapel.
Admission is free to both concerts.
