Women's studies professor presents papers at Spanish university
Submitted by Gabriela Díaz de Sabatés
In May, Gabriela Díaz de Sabatés, instructor of women's studies, presented two invited papers at the University of Valencia, Spain.
Subjects such as gender, immigration and ethnic identity are central to the University Valencia’s masters program on Gender and Equity and Ph.D. program in Gender Studies. Díaz de Sabatés presented “Equity policies in a racialized society: The university’s role in promoting gender and ethnic equity” and “Immigration and gender in the U.S. Latino population.”
Her lectures were possible thanks to the faculty and student exchange agreements that are being signed between the University of Valencia and Kansas State University. Such agreements facilitate the collaboration between the two institutions in several areas, including gender studies and other social sciences and humanities.
