How to Manage Accommodation Requests training canceled

The Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA/ADAAA, How to Manage Accommodation Requests, WTD076, will be offered from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, in the Edwards Hall commons area.
The university is committed to creating an inclusive workplace environment for individual with disabilities. A part of that commitment under the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA, and Americans with Disabilities Amendment Act, or ADAAA, for supervisors is to initiate an interactive process discussion when an applicant or employee requests reasonable accommodations or become aware of the possible need for an accommodation.
As a result of this session, participants will:
- Describe the interplay between essential functions, medical restrictions, and reasonable accommodation under ADA/ADAAA.
- Identify reasonable accommodation request and when it is appropriate to initiate an interactive discussion for such requests.
- Interpret policy and procedures and discuss confidentiality, timeframe and documentation.
This course is offered in conjunction with the Introduction to Supervision, WTD077, series. Seating is limited.
