Submitted by Human Capital Services-Learning and Development
Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA/ADAAA, How to Manage Accommodation Requests, WTD076, will be offered from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in 126 Leadership Studies Building.
The university is committed to creating an inclusive workplace environment for individuals with disabilities. A part of that commitment under the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA, and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act, or ADAAA, for supervisors is to initiate an interactive process discussion when an applicant or employee requests reasonable accommodations or becomes aware of the possible need for an accommodation.
As a result of this session, participants will:
- Describe the interplay between essential functions, medical restrictions, and reasonable accommodation under ADA/ADAAA.
- Identify reasonable accommodation requests and when it is appropriate to initiate an interactive discussion for such requests.
- Interpret policy and procedures and discuss confidentiality, time frame and documentation.
To register for this session, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to Samantha Roberts at learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title.
