Grace M. Shugart Lecture Series presents 'Dietetics 3.0- Transforming Practice through A.I. Engagement'

The food, nutrition, dietetics and health department invites you to the 44th annual Grace M. Shugart Lecture Series at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, in the College of Business Building Lecture Hall, Room 1088.
The lecture series is a long standing tribute to Shugart's accomplishments as a leader in the dietetics profession where she served as president of the American Dietetic Association, now Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, department head in the College of Human Ecology, and as a visionary for food management education throughout the country.
This year's presenter is Tatyana El-Kour. El-Kour will present "Dietetics 3.0- Transforming Practice through A.I. Engagement."
El-Kour is a registered dietitian nutritionist and fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
El-Kour holds a bachelor's degree in dietetics from K-State, a bachelor's degree in nutrition and food technology from University of Jordan, a master's degree in media psychology from Fielding Graduate University and a master's degree in medical nutrition therapy and policy from Tufts University. She has worn many hats in her career including clinician, public health officer, policy strategist and change agent. She possesses more than 15 years of multicultural expertise in national, regional and global efforts related to policy, application, research and practice intersecting public health, social and nutrition sciences, behavioral change, technology and media. As a native of Jordan, El-Kour's work has been mostly focused on the Middle East and North African region, and on Middle Eastern populations across the globe.

A luncheon will precede the lecture at 1 p.m. in the Kramer Dining Center at a cost of $12 per person and can be paid at the door. A reception immediately following the lecture will be in Justin Hall's Hoffman Lounge.
