Hadachek awarded College of Agriculture Student of the Year

Jeff Hadachek, senior in agricultural economics, Cuba, has been named the 2017-2018 College of Agriculture Student of the Year. Hadachek was nominated for this award by the College of Agriculture Ambassadors. This award is sponsored by the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.

The College of Agriculture accepts nominations from student groups each month for the Student of the Month award. After a rigorous application and voting process, eight students are selected by the College of Agriculture Student Council members. The Student of the Year is selected from the Student of the Month award winners. Hadachek was recognized for his accomplishment at the Ag Student Awards Banquet.

While attending K-State, he has been involved with a variety of activities, including the College of Agriculture Ambassadors, Farmhouse fraternity, College of Agriculture Student Council, the Center for Risk Management Education and Research as a fellow, Student Alumni Board, K-State Christian Challenge as a life group leader, and as a teaching assistant for Agricultural Policy and Introduction to Agriculture.

Each student award winner received a $100 scholarship from the Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.

Other winners of the Student of the Month award were Samantha Albers, senior in agricultural communications and journalism, Bendena; Kyler Langvardt, junior in agricultural communications and journalism, Chapman; Gage Nichols, senior in animal sciences and industry, Russell; Aubrey Davis, senior in agricultural economics, Scott City; Callahan Grund, senior in animal sciences and industry, Sharon Springs; Mary Marsh, sophomore in agricultural communications and journalism, Arbuckle, California; and Darby Schmidt, junior in agribusiness, Defiance, Missouri.

The Student of the Year program is coordinated by the College of Agriculture Student Council.
