Hospitality management students win best paper at KAHTEA conference

John Saiki and Hunter Clark, seniors in hospitality management, won Best Paper in the undergraduate section of the Korea America Hospitality and Tourism Educators Association conference April 20-21 in Las Vegas.
Saiki and Clark, with guidance from Jichul Jang, presented on their paper "Do online reviews affect a hotel's RevPar? It depends." Their research looked to examine how managing online reviews influence hotel performance.
"This research project provided an enriching learning experience for the students," said Jang, an assistant professor of hospitality management and their faculty mentor. "They put in many hours of preparation over the last severall months and I am very proud of the quality of their performance at the conference."
The Korea America Hospitality and Tourism Educators Association fosters academic and professional collaboration and networking between hospitality educators and industry professionals in both Korea and America.
