Inaugural first-generation students' graduation reception to take place Friday, May 11
More than 600 undergraduate first-generation college students will receive their diplomas May 11-12. K-State will recognize their accomplishments and celebrate with their families at an inaugural graduation celebration from 4-5 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.
Educational Supportive Services, McNair Scholars, First Scholars, and the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry are serving as co-hosts for this reception celebrating those graduating who are the first in their families to attend and to graduate. These students will receive a green cord to wear at graduation that symbolizes the resilience that first-generation students display throughout their college years.
