Geography department honors students with awards
The geography department presented its departmental awards and scholarships at its annual honors and awards reception on May 2.
The following students received awards:
Jakob Hanschu, senior, Huber Self Scholarship in Geography.
Benjamin Heilman, junior, H.L. "Sy" Seyler Undergraduate GIScience Scholarship.
Vu Vo, sophomore, William Grimm Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship.
Ricardo Gonzalez, junior, Leonard LeBlanc Outstanding Undergraduate Major Award.
Lia Welti, senior, National Council for Geographic Education/American Association of Geographers Excellence in Scholarship Award.
Amariah Fischer, master's student, Stephen and Susan White Geography GTA Award.
Blake Walter, master's student, Milton and Emma Jean Rafferty Gamma Theta Upsilon Geography Scholarship.
Amariah Fischer, master's student, Mary Dobbs Outstanding Citizen Award.
Rose Micke, senior, Robert H. Williams Undergraduate Geography Scholarship.
Subarna Chatterjee, doctoral student, Geography Graduate Student Leadership Award.
Barrie Chileen, master's student, and Fangfang Yao, doctoral student, Steven Kale Graduate Research Fellowships. Chileen also received the Marston Muddy Boots Award.
