Summer reading groups are 'GIFTS' — Good Ideas for Teaching Success
Teaching faculty and GTAs, you have some summer "GIFTS" ready to open. Have you taken a look at them yet? Visit the Teaching and Learning Center's website for more information about Good Ideas for Teaching Success, or GIFTS.
Please unwrap this gift and join the center for its summer reading groups. Register for GIFTS online.
The first event, "Brain and Learning" will be facilitated by Jane Fishback. You will receive an article in your email, which you can read before joining us at 3 p.m. June 18 in 1092 College of Business Administration Building. We will discuss the article and explore together about the brain and learning.
The same format will follow for the following three events. You will receive an article to read, then come for discussion.
- June 25, "Growth Mindset and Fixed Mindset," Jane Fishback, facilitator.
- July 9, "Great Thinking," Elaine Johannes, facilitator.
- July 16, "Apply What We Learned," Kathleen Hoss-Cruz, facilitator. This session will be in Room 3043 of the College of Business Administration Building.
If you attend three of the four sessions, you will receive a certificate. Many faculty who attended the summer reading sessions last year included their certificate when reporting yearly activities for evaluation, promotion and tenure to their department head.
