From KSU Foundation: K-State Office Park powered by WTC, local communication services
KSU Foundation has partnered with longtime local communications provider, WTC, to power the K-State Office Park's digital connectivity at the corner of Kimball and Denison Avenues in the research and academic corridor along the north edge of Kansas State University's Manhattan campus.
As the K-State Office Park prepares for the fall 2018 occupancy of its newest building at 1880 Kimball Avenue, WTC's Fiber Optic technology has been deployed onsite to equip the K-State-strengthening park with communications infrastructure necessary to support state-of-the-art innovations among the park's partner tenants. Data speeds of up to 10 gigabytes of broadband data will be available to tenants, on par with what is found in metro areas across the country. WTC brings its competitive voice, video and internet connectivity; rapid-install technology and on-site local service to the park as well.
"We are pleased to power the K-State Office Park now and in the future," said Jeff Wick, WTC president and general manager. "K-State is important to Kansas and we, at WTC, want to do all we can to support the ongoing work and research in the park on behalf of the university."
WTC's partnership will enhance the research and academic opportunities available to global partners moving into the 56-acre innovation network or "ecosystem" the KSU Foundation is developing on behalf of K-State.
"By offering WTC's world-class connectivity, our K-State Office Park partner tenants will enjoy high speed digital access," said Greg Lohrentz, KSU Foundation senior vice president of operations and finance. "These speeds combined with the digital redundancy is what our partners expect from a top tier facility and it furthers the university's vision of becoming a Top 50 public research university."
The construction team consisting of McCownGordon Construction, general contractor; Hoefer Wysocki, architect; and Eskie & Associates, owners' representative, has stated the project will open for tenant occupancy Aug. 1, 2018.
As Kansas State University's strategic partner for philanthropy, the KSU Foundation inspires and guides philanthropy toward university priorities to boldly advance K-State family.
