Jessyca Waddell merits Student Excellence Award from online education alliance
Submitted by Great Plains IDEA
Jessyca Waddell, Kansas State University master's student in youth development, Lafayette, Indiana, earned a $1,000 Student Excellence Award, from the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance, or Great Plains IDEA.
Waddell will use the scholarship toward her master's degree from K-State. Her coursework could come from six additional universities participating online.
She is one of five students to achieve the scholarship this year. To qualify, Waddell needed to be pursuing a bachelor's degree, master's degree or certificate in a Great Plains IDEA degree program from a Great Plains IDEA member university. The Great Plains IDEA governing cabinet reviewed students' goals and granted the awards.
Nineteen accredited universities are members of Great Plains IDEA, a solution to quality online degrees since 2001. In various combinations, universities together offer nine human sciences and nine agriculture programs online.
