Office of sustainability is accepting applications for internships
The office of sustainability is seeking applicants for five paid internship opportunities for the current school year. Successful applicants will be paid $10 an hour for up to 10 hours per week as hourly student employees to develop and implement a sustainability campaign in one of five areas:
- Housing and dining
- Campus transportation
- EcoReps programming
- Student policy
- Campus education and communications
Interns will be supervised individually by the K-State director of sustainability and will receive training on campus leadership for sustainability. In addition, there will be regular group meetings among all interns and the director.
Please contact Ben Champion at champion@k-state.edu or 785-313-3085 for detailed position descriptions, more information about the program and to apply.
Applications should include a resume and a letter indicating which focus area interests you, why you are interested and what would make you a good intern for that focus area. If you have any initial ideas about projects you would like to undertake, please do share those in the letter as well.
Faculty are encouraged to share this opportunity with students who they think would be good candidates.
Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. Applicants should be prepared to interview in person if requested between Aug. 23-27. Selections will be made by Aug. 29, and the first group meeting will organized shortly afterward.
