Enrollment for State Employee Health Plan Insurance is open
Submitted by Human Capital Services
Open enrollment for health, dental and vision insurances and for flexible spending account, health savings account, or HSA, health reimbursement account, or HRA, HealthyKids and additional voluntary medical plans opened Monday, Oct. 1. Enrollment will run through Oct. 31 with an effective coverage start date of Jan. 1, 2019.
Employees must enroll in the State Employee Health Plan even if you desire the same coverage you currently have in 2018. Failure to enroll will place you in Plan N. Health insurance in 2019 allows for employees to make a choice between several health plan options. Learn more about the 2019 health plan options and see instructions on how to enroll at the Human Capital Services — Open Enrollment webpage.
Changes for 2019 include a stand-alone dental option; employees may now enroll in dental coverage without the requirement of state medical coverage.
NueSynergy will be the financial institution for health savings and health reimbursement accounts in addition to flexible spending accounts. Mid-December, employees will receive information, including a welcome packet from NueSynergy with information regarding the ability to transfer funds from Optum to NueSynergy.
Two State Employee Health Plan informational sessions will be at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union.
State Employee Health Plan webinars are also offered at various times during October. Please see the State Employee Health Plan website for more information.
