Chapman Center for Rural Studies seeks applicants for $25,000 grant program
The Chapman Center for Rural Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking applications for its Making the Leap: The Future of Small Museums and Historical Societies grant. Applicants must be master's graduate students from any discipline in the College of Arts and Sciences currently enrolled at K-State.
Applicants should be in their first or second semester of study to be eligible for this project-driven scholarship.
Four scholarships of $25,000 each will be awarded over the course of each 12-month appointment.
Successful applicants will be paired and trained to engage with selected historical societies in Kansas to facilitate effective long-term plans leading to the increased viability of the institution. Travel to four historical society locations, digital resources, hands-on training and mentoring will be provided by the Chapman Center under the direction of Chapman Center faculty and the Center for Engagement and Community Development. Academic credit for engagement is also negotiable based on major.
