Career launcher: More than 200 employers attending 2012 All-University Career Fair
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
Prospective employers are showing a strong interest in Kansas State University students.
Representatives from more than 200 companies, industries and agencies are registered for the All-University Career Fair, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Bramlage Coliseum.
The fair is for Kansas State University students, but also is open to members of the Manhattan community.
Cerner, Koch Industries and State Street are among the employers who will attend the fair. A full list of participating employers can be found at http://www.k-state.edu/ces and selecting "My CES Account." After logging in, click the "Career Fairs and Events" tab, and then select "Career Fair" to get an up-to-date list of registered employers.
With increasing job competition, it's important that career fair attendees dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume, according to Angela Hayes, the All-University Career Fair chair for Kansas State University's career and employment services.
Some employers may offer qualified students next-day interviews, which will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 and 20 in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.
A shuttle bus will run between the Union and Bramlage Coliseum every 20 minutes -- from 10:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- both days of the career fair.
Career and employment services hosts an event prior to the fair for students who may not have the funds to purchase professional attire. The Career Closet will be available in Holtz Hall from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12; noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
