The K-State academic advising website: A great resource for advisers, advisees
The K-State academic advising website serves as a resource for academic advisers and their advisees. New freshmen, current and transfer students can find a frequently asked questions sections to answer their advising questions, an advising road map with a checklist, and pages with a handy course schedule print-out, advising contact info, a list of their responsibilities as an advisee and entertaining video footage from the student body president, Nate Spriggs, on the importance of advising.
Our "For Advisers" section features the Academic Advising Handbook, adviser responsibilities, as well as resources on advising special student populations, deciphering the ACT profile, advising assessment, information on developmental advising, and a wealth of online advising references on advising theory, research and professional development.
We hope advisers and students will find this a helpful tool to supplement the advising process. Please email to let us know what you think and your suggestions are welcomed!
The academic advising website was re-developed in Spring 2012 via the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning.
