Powercat Financial selects new Peer Financial Counselors, Student Advisory Board members
Powercat Financial recently selected new peer financial counselors for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Peer financial counselors assist students with their financial questions and college financial planning decisions, as well as provide free financial workshops and events for students. This is a unique on-campus internship opportunity for students studying in financial-related programs such as personal financial planning, business finance, accounting, agribusiness and economics.
The following students will serve as new peer financial counselors:
Garrett Jackson, Cedar Point; Carson Cox, Hutchinson; Caitlin Herrmann, Kinsley; Chace Prothe, Prairie Village; Blake Matzke, Silver Lake; Jessica Smith, Spring Hill; Sarah Meenen and Matthew Schlossman, both from Topeka; and Emma Hahn, Wichita.
From out of state: Maria Daniele, Elgin, Illinois; and Anabelle Sanko, Holdrege, Nebraska.
Twenty-three additional students will join Powercat Financial's Student Advisory Board to support the mission of increasing students' financial capability. The students will be responsible for marketing the financial services of Powercat Financial to fellow students and hosting interactive financial events throughout the year such as the annual Spring Break Not Spring Broke, Thrifty Gifting, Eating Healthy on a Budget, and Love and Money events. They also promote the free online financial tool, CashCourse.org, created by the National Endowment for Financial Education and connect students with K-State 360.
