Entomologist Davis receives Master Gardener award
Holly Davis, employee and docotoral student in the department of entomology, was recently presented the Friend of Extension Master Gardener Award by the K-State Research and Extension Master Gardeners.
Davis is being honored for her extensive and valuable service to the public. As an insect diagnostician, she provides identifications of insects, spiders and other arthropods upon request. She also handles numerous requests for identification of small creatures captured and submitted as images, or captured in the flesh and sent either intact or in pieces. Davis works carefully to identify each — and given the thousands of species of arthropods in Kansas from which one can choose, this is no small feat.
