Submitted by Brent Fritzemeier
The Business of Sports and Entertainment Speaker Series will host two business entertainment speakers this week.
On Tuesday, April 9, Krista Darting, formerly of the Nashville Songwriters Association International and current K-State Alumni director of membership and marketing, will speak about the music industry as a whole, the songwriting profession, and songwriter rights.
Thursday, April 11, Heidi Hurtig, associate senior season marketing manager, and Bethany Nesbitt, senior director of marketing for The American Theatre Guild will present in the speaker series. The American Theatre Guild is a nonprofit national theatrical presenter dedicated to providing the experience of live theatre to foster passion, inspire creativity, and empower youth within 11 different markets across the country that include productions such as "Hamilton," "Les Misérables" and Disney's "The Lion King."
Both presentations are open to the public and free to attend. Presentations will begin at 11:30 a.m. on each day in the K-State College of Business Building Lecture Hall.
The speaker series, organized by marketing faculty members Janis Crow and Doug Walker, supports the College of Business's newest undergraduate certificate program, the Business of Sports and Entertainment certificate.
