Why am I getting this email?
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
Like Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, the K-State Today e-newsletter may seem like an unlikely pair with student success but it's packed with information to help students make their college experience into a smash hit.
Why should I care?
From UPC and athletic events to scholarship, study abroad and internship info, K-State Today is how you can find more information about how to maximize your college experience. Anything that you need to know — and a few things you didn't know you needed to know — comes through this newsletter.
But there's stuff in there I certainly don't care about!
Of course, there is. We are on a campus of 20,000+ students but we bet you can find something that could help you ... or entertain you ... or at least an event that would feed you. And like any good email recipient, skimming is OK.
OK, but I'm stressed already and it's just one more thing.
We know and we get it! Your college time can be stressful but K-State Today also publishes info on how to manage that stress or find an interest group to help forget about the stress and connect with others like you.
Can I take a break from it once my email fills up?
While we still want to deliver the info to your K-State email, we understand full inboxes and the need to sort through the important stuff. Again, skimming is OK and so is pushing it into a "read later" folder — though you might miss the article that could lead you to that first job. Then again, you are a K-State student and we all know K-State students are resourceful and will find that amazing first job anyway.
Who are the folks behind this?
The articles are submitted by people all over the university and are edited by a few passionate K-Staters who want to see you succeed in your education. Really! We want to make the student version fit your needs. If you have suggestions for making it better, let us know. Email us at kstatetoday@k-state.edu.
Just keep in mind, this e-newsletter was created because everyone wanted to send everyone else an email anytime they had anything to say. Even if you are not a math major, we are sure that you can figure out that adds up to a LOT of emails. This newsletter combines all of the news — that so desperately had to get out — into one neatly packaged email, which is a ton easier to deal with in that inbox.
