Psychology internship program cited
Submitted by Dorinda J. Lambert, Ph.D.
Dorinda Lambert, director of the K-State counseling services, is happy to announce that the pre-doctoral internship program at counseling services has been listed by the Council of Chairs of Training Councils as an example of a university counseling center internship site.
In addition, the CCTC cited the internship Web page at http://www.k-state.edu/counseling/training/internship.htm in its psychology internship development tool kit, which is available at http://www.psychtrainingcouncils.org/documents.html.
The council, which is not a part of the American Psychological Association, is a national consortium of various professional training organizations and is committed to quality training at all levels.
The pre-doctoral psychology internship program at K-State has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1987 and is preparing for it’s next accreditation site visit which is expected in spring 2012.
The high caliber of the counseling services staff has drawn excellent interns over the years and consistently provided competent and low-cost professional services to the K-State students and helpful consultations to the entire campus community. Lambert attributes this recognition to the commitment and collegial work of all staff at the agency.
