K-State Choirs presents 'Dawn of the Madrigal'
Submitted by Sydney VanDyke and Blakely Bunning
The K-State Collegium Musicum, Madrigal & Motet Ensemble, and Recorder Consort will present "The Dawn of the Madrigal," a concert of music from the Italian Renaissance and beyond, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, in All Faiths/Danforth Chapel.
The K-State Early Ensembles' fall concert explores music at the turn of the 16th century when a new musical genre began to emerge that would take Europe by storm. These ensembles will perform a variety of vocal and instrumental music from this pivotal time in the history of European music.
The concert will also feature a special performance by Rock Creek Junior/Senior High School's "Mixed Emotions" choral ensemble directed by K-State alumna Karis Nichols.
Tickets are $5 for the general public and $3 for youth, K-State students/employees, seniors and military. To purchase tickets online, please visit ksu.universitytickets.com.
