Boren representative Kyle Cox to share information about the Boren Awards

Submitted by Kali Poenitske

Kyle Cox, from the Institute of International Education, will share information about the Boren Scholarship program in a brownbag lunch session from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, in the Director's Conference Room in the K-State Student Union.

The Boren Scholarships and Fellowships award up to $30,000 for a semester or year abroad. In particular, the Boren promotes linguistic and cultural immersion in countries critical to national security and/or national interests.

Cox is currently the Boren outreach and recruitment analyst for the Institute of International Education. He will share information about the purpose of the Boren program, the range of opportunities available and how to create a strong application. Interested undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to attend and learn more in preparation for the Jan. 5, 2020 campus deadline.

Students unable to attend can contact Jim Hohenbary, director of nationally competitive scholarships, at jimlth@k-state.edu, for additional details about the Boren.
