In-A-Chord a cappella presents fall concert
K-State's premier a cappella group, In-A-Chord, will perform its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at University Christian Church, 2800 Claflin Road. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 online, $5 from any member of the group, or for $8 at the door.
In-A-Chord's concert will feature more than 15 contemporary/pop songs written in the a cappella style, including songs by Ariana Grande, The Beatles, Sara Bareilles and more.
Members of the group include Kayleigh Ballesteros, junior in music; Payton Boldt, sophomore in vocal performance; Lorenzo Butler, graduate student in vocal performance; Joshua Childs, sophomore in music education; Abby Lacy, sophomore in strategic communications; Cooper McGuire, fifth-year senior in vocal performance; Spencer Pope, the group's sound engineer, sophomore in music education; Davis Roe, junior in music; Jacob Thomas, sophomore in music composition; and Sydney VanDyke, sophomore in communication sciences and disorders.
In-A-Chord is a student-led ensemble, which is currently under the direction of music managers Ballesteros and Lacy, and Associate Professor Joshua Oppenheim. The group performs various gigs throughout the year and a concert each semester. In-A-Chord hosts auditions open to majors and nonmajors each semester. Auditions will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, and Thursday, Dec. 10, at McCain Auditorium. The group rehearses from 3:30-5:20 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.
