College of Health and Human Sciences recognizes fall 2019 outstanding seniors

The College of Health and Human Sciences recognizes its 2019 fall commencement outstanding senior award winners. This year's outstanding senior award winners were nominated by faculty and staff in each of their respective programs.
Three different award categories are available. The Engagement Award is given to graduating seniors who have made exemplary contributions that impact the well-being of the community or individuals in the community. The Leadership Award is given to graduating seniors who have exhibited excellence in leadership; recognized for their contributions to the campus, college, program and professional organizations. The Outstanding Research/Creative Activity award is given to graduating seniors whose research or creative activity has made a significant contribution to his or her field of study.
Winners of the Engagement Award:
Kylie Horsch, nutritional sciences, Andale; Katharyn Roe, nutritional sciences, Herington; Megan Herpich, kinesiology, Manhattan; Jessie Carr, human development and family science, Pleasanton; Brooklyn Plot, communication sciences and disorders, Salina; Taylor Rusche, early childhood education, Seneca; and Heather Wooden, dietetics, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Winners of the Leadership Award:
Claire Tritschler, nutrition and health, Bel Aire; Shelbi Emling, human development and family science, Chanute; Morgan Ziegler, personal financial planning, Junction City; Jena Winkler, kinesiology, Sabetha; Lexi Becker, communication sciences and disorders, Wichita; and Taylor Capko, gerontology, Port Arthur, Texas.
Winners of the Research/Creative Inquiry Award:
Shelbie McLain, human development and family science, Shawnee; Alyssa Graber, communication sciences and disorders, Wichita; and Timothy Cale Hepler, kinesiology, Olin, North Carolina.
Seniors will receive their awards at the annual Graduation Honors and Student Awards Celebration on Friday, Dec. 13, in the K-State Student Union.
