Faculty and staff invited to presentation regarding child development laboratory schools

The early childhood education program in the School of Family Studies and Human Services, College of Health and Human Sciences, will host a presentation by Brent McBride titled, "University-Based Child Development Laboratory Schools: A Vision for the Future," from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, in 164 Justin Hall.
McBride is a professor of human development and a professor of nutritional sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well director of the university's Child Development Laboratory program. He has also been engaged in leadership roles with laboratory school programs for the majority of his more than 36-year professional career. McBride has served two consecutive two-year terms as president of the National Organization of Child Development Laboratory Schools, and has conducted research and published manuscripts on issues confronting laboratory school programs across the country.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Child Development Laboratory is widely recognized by peer institutions as being a model laboratory school program that actively supports and facilitates the teaching, research and engagement activities of faculty, staff and students on campus, while at the same time providing high-quality early childhood programming for enrolled children and their families.
