Reminder: Help your communities
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
Faculty and staff: As you continue to work with your students remotely and adjust during these challenging times, there's one important way we can all help our university and community.
In addition to doing your part and completing the 2020 U.S. Census, please share this information with your students. The Census is important to the communities that surround K-State because of the funding decisions that will impact the services we all enjoy.
With recent campus changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students may have left their campus home for the academic year. The Census Bureau recommends that students be counted in their university community where they would normally be living. The following video explains more.
As noted in the video, students who live off campus should:
- Go to my2020census.gov to respond to the Census, regardless if they received the mailer at their house/apartment at school.
- Click "If you do not have a Census ID, click here," then respond to the prompts.
- Be counted in the community where they were supposed to be residing on April 1.
Students who live in residence halls and Greek houses do not need to respond to the 2020 Census — the Census Bureau works with facility administrators to count these residents.
