Bulk Solids Innovation Center partners with Powder and Bulk Engineering
The Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center, or BSIC, is continuing the center's mission of furthering knowledge of bulk solids handling by partnering with Powder and Bulk Engineering, or PBE, a premier industry publication.
The publication provides in-depth features and technical articles focused on processes and equipment used in handling, processing and storing bulk solids. By partnering with the publication, the center is able to share research developments with industry across the U.S. and the world. Most recently, the center was featured in the January issue of Powder and Bulk Engineering, highlighting the center's unique background as a collaborative partnership with government, and for-profit and nonprofit entities.
In addition to providing content to the publication, Bulk Solids Innovation Center staff provide guidance. Todd Smith, business and strategy manager for the center, serves on publication's editorial advisory board.
"I am excited that this partnership will help inform industry about improvements in the state-of-the-art for bulk solids handling," Smith said. "The Bulk Solids Innovation Center is working to improve the many issues seen by companies, and Powder and Bulk Engineering is the main place where industry will learn about these solutions. I have been benefitting from PBE articles since the 1980s and now it is my turn to return the favor."
"We know this collaboration will benefit our readers, and we look forward to working with Todd and everyone at the BSIC," said Jan Brenny, Powder and Bulk Engineering editor.
The mission of the Bulk Solids Innovation Center is to serve customers by offering innovative solutions that enhance productivity through ground-breaking research, product testing and global education related to bulk solids storage, flow and conveying. The center provides a range of services to the industry and the university. The center is the only one of its kind in North America.
Powder and Bulk Engineering is a technical publication devoted to readers in the bulk solids market worldwide. Since 1987, the publication has provided practical, hands-on information readers can use on the job when processing and handling dry bulk solids.
